Mai Morimoto is a Research Fellow at Imperial College London, Dept. Life Sciences (more info here). 

She is generally interested in the visual cognitive capabilities of animals, and their neural implementations.

Previously, she was a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellow hosted by Prof. Lars Chittka at Queen Mary University of London, working on bumblebee visual cognitive behaviour.

During her postdoc, she investigated the neural representation of visual landmarks in mouse primary visual cortex (V1). She also studied the organization of feedback projections to mouse primary visual cortex (V1) that carry contextual signals to V1.

For her PhD, she probed circuit mechanisms of how visual looming signal is transformed in the central brain of fruit flies.
